Sushi Candy with Gwendolyn Waite

Yummy idea for a birthday party. Candy sushi. Rice Krispie bars rolled out thin in waxed paper on the porch on a cool November Minnesota evening. (Her son wanted an evening party. Too funny, and well you can guess that kid is pretty clever.) Gwen had all the official trays and grass and chop sticks. They turned out great and taste good too.

I have to tell you about the mom Gwen. She is a wonderful photographer and takes pictures of kids and babies and newborns. Here is her site.......

Monday Monday ............. Off to Orange Hall

Saw this beauty of a tribute to orange here.

Just had to find out if there were other people who quoted orange thoughts......... yep, glad to be surrounded by good orange company.

"There is no blue without yellow and without orange."
Vincent van Gogh

"He hangs in shades the orange bright,/Like golden lamps in a green night."
Andrew Mavel

"A man ought to carry hinself in the world as an orange tree would if it could walk up and down in the garden, swinging perfume from every little censer it holds up to the air"
Henry Ward Beecher

"I first saw the site for Disneyland back in 1953, In those days it was all flat land - no rivers, no mountains, no castles or rocket ships - just orange groves.
Walt Disney

"Her eyebrows are clipped parentheses, and she paints her face for the last days of the Weimar Republic. Frizzy orange curls grow in her wold hair like snapdragons pleading for water."
Paul Gardner

Lively Table

Ok, here is a favorite photo.
This has been in the back of my head for some time.
It is my ideal of a combined living space for work and
art and family and life. There is a lot of action and a lot
of smiles and a lot of messyness and somehow it still got in
into a lovely house book called
I have decided that this blog needs some
inspiration. It isn't all about what we do
it's about what is going on all around us.
This picture is enough for me right now but
I promise to post some fun stuff to look at real soon.
