Late this spring I visited a friend in Monterey California. She has built a beautiful printmaking studio in her home where I worked for a week making these prints. As my daughter in nearing the ending edges of her childhood I am dreaming of her as a mermaid entering the next phases of her young adulthood and all the mysterious underwater beginnings of life.
