Animation

Here is one sheet of half a ream (not quite, but we did have to go resupply at Staples after depleting our paper supply from the creation of 3 fantastic piles of animation drawings. The kids decided to draw cells to 3 movies. Fifty drawings in one day can really humble you.. and I was under the presumption that I was somewhat prolific. Silly me. We have taped papers to the window and transferred images through light and used tissue and tracing paper but using a light table I knew was the best way to go with this project. I scoped out light tables and found that they were more than we wanted to pay for a craft that maybe would come and go and even though may come back into the kids interest circle it seemed that we could refigure this thing out in a better light.

We came up with a solution that really works well and uses parts that can be assembled and broken down whenever needed. We ended up using the recycling bin and laying a sheet of plate glass over it with a light inside the box. Voila, it worked perfectly. Now, all I have to do is scan all of these drawings in order and turn them into a movie. Well, I haven't jumped on that yet. When I do it will be posted. They have also had a lot of fun with claymation which is a bit more direct. We set up the digital point and shoot on a tripod and take a shot with each small transformation of the clay.
